  11. What are the essentials tools for a starter auto mechanic tool box?

    We suggest a 12 point combination wrench set (81919), a 6 point combination wrench set (81923), a Phillips & slotted screwdriver set (80051H), a 16 oz ball pein hammer (82251), 6" long nose pliers (82176-06), 6" calipers (3756D), and a magnetic pick-up tool (84089).

  12. How do I clean and maintain my tools?

  13. What is the difference between SAE and metric tools?

SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) tools are measured in inches, while metric tools are measured in millimeters.  The type of measurement depends on the system used in the country of origin or the equipment that you're working on.

  14. What is the difference between chrome vanadium and chrome molybdenum tools?

They are different types of steel alloys.  Chrome vanadium is known for its strength and durability, while chrome molybdenum (chromoly) is often used in impact-resistant tools.

  15. What is the difference between chrome sockets and impact sockets?

The key differences are the materials and design.  Chrome sockets are suitable for general use and tasks where high torque is not a primary concern.  Impact sockets are specifically designed to withstand the extreme forces generated by impact wrenches in heavy-duty applications.  If you are using an impact wrench, it is crucial to use impact sockets and drive tools to ensure safety and prevent damage to both the tools and fasteners.
