GearWrench Launches New Additions to XL Line of Hand Tools
GearWrench recently launched the XL X-Beam Reversible, XL X-Beam Flex and the XL Spline. The three new ratcheting wrench innovations in the extra long “XL” line allow tool users to access hard-to-reach fasteners with up to 25 percent longer beam lengths and a ratcheting box end that requires as little as five degrees. The GearWrench Surface Drive Plus feature reduces fastener rounding and delivers up to 25 percent more torque than standard wrenches.
What Makes The New Hand Tools Unique?
XL X-Beam Reversible offers a reversible lever that allows users to alternate from loosening to tightening motions without flipping the wrench over. The unique 15-degree offset provides clearance for users’ hands. The XL X-Beam Flex features a locking flex hinge on the box end of the wrench allowing users to adjust the offset angle when working in tight spaces.
The new GearWrench XL Spline ratcheting wrench works on a wide assortment of fasteners including spline, six-point, six-point rounded, twelve-point, square, and E-Torx® types. The ratcheting Spline allows tool users to approach each task prepared even when the type of fastener is unknown or varied.

GearWrench Introduces Largest Combination Ratcheting Wrench Ever
The new Jumbo Ratcheting Wrench is turning heads not only for its immense size but also for its ratcheting technology. It was designed to meet the unique needs of technicians in the heavy truck, industrial, agricultural and petrochemical industries where larger size wrenches are commonly required. Utilizing GearWrench’s patented 5-degree ratcheting technology, the “jumbo” size covers 1-7/16” to 2” in SAE and from 36mm to 50mm in Metric.
The new Jumbo Ratcheting Wrench is the largest ratcheting wrench on the market and offers a better solution for end users who had to previously rely on traditional large combination wrenches when working on larger fasteners, which proved to be tiresome and unproductive.

Thousands Get Hands On with GearWrench at Annual SEMA Show
We’re fresh on the heels of the annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, which concluded on November 7. The SEMA Show is the largest of its kind with tens of thousands of automotive professionals from more than 100 countries in attendance. In addition to introducing new innovations, the show gives us an opportunity to solicit end-user feedback that we use to drive new product ideas.
The products mentioned earlier -- XL X-Beam Reversible, XL X-Beam Flex, XL Spline and the Jumbo Ratcheting Wrench -- were all on display at the show. We are proud to announce that the Jumbo Ratcheting Wrench and new Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) each received a Global Media Award, which recognizes the innovation, creativity and drive of SEMA member companies. Made up of international journalists, the voting panel reviewed more than 2,000 new style and performance products that were introduced during this year’s show. After close review, the judges selected 10 products each that would be most relevant to their publications’ readers and most likely to succeed commercially in their respective countries. Journalists representing publications from 25 countries made up the panel.
GearWrench also offered attendees a first look at a line of wearable products including GearWrench branded hats and t-shirts during the show. We received positive responses to the designs and look forward to introducing the full line in 2009!
